Angela Levins is the PR Director at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. She started her career path in 2002 as a news producer at WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi. After Hurricane Katrina, Levins traveled to Norfolk, Virginia, with a short stent as the web producer at WAVY-TV before jumping back into the news producer chair. She moved to Mobile, Alabama, in 2008 to serve as a news producer at FOX10 News. She rounded out her journalism skills as the community engagement specialist and digital reporter at AL.com.
Today, she uses everything she learned in those first 13 years to highlight the importance of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL), the state of Alabama's marine research and education center. She shares the DISL mission through all media channels and community connections. Her awards include an Edward R. Murrow and Peabody for Hurricane Katrina coverage, a Virginia Broadcasters Award for breaking news, and Public Relations Council of Alabama Awards for DISL's promotional videos in 2023 and 2024.
