ICES Annual Science ConferenceRiga, Latvia Travel Funding Available for New U.S. Participants The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) is a leading forum for the promotion, coordination, and dissemination of research on physical, chemical, and biological systems in the North Atlantic and adjacent seas. ICES promotes the science of discovery in the marine realm. In addition, it provides advice on human impacts on marine ecosystems, including effects of fishing, but with strong emphasis on broader areas of concern in evolving ecosystem-based management.
